Seen
Terms of Service
Effective 29 July 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Seen mobile application. By using Seen you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and delete your account — Settings → danger zone → delete account.
1. What Seen is
Seen is a private journaling and memory-keeping app. It gives you a space to record thoughts, moods, photos and day notes. It is not a social network, a health-diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional support. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local support service.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Seen. You are responsible for the email and password you provide, and for keeping them secure. If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, change your password immediately and email seenreflectionapp@gmail.com.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Seen. Where local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies.
3. Your content is yours
Every journal entry, mood, photo, and day note you save in Seen remains yours. Seen does not claim ownership over your content and will not use it for any purpose other than showing it back to you and, where you have added a photo, generating the optional AI reflection described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you save. Do not save content that violates someone else's rights, is illegal in your jurisdiction, or that you do not have permission to store.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer Seen or its backend.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Use Seen to store or transmit malware, illegal content, or content that violates the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these rules.
5. AI reflections
Photos you upload are sent to OpenAI to generate a short optional reflection. The reflection is generated by a machine and may occasionally be inaccurate, awkward, or off-tone. It is offered as an invitation to notice, not as advice.
6. Availability
Seen is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance, outages of upstream services, or issues on your device or network may affect access.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seen and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the app. Our total liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you have paid to use Seen in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim — which, for a free app, is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted.
8. Termination
You can end your relationship with Seen at any time by deleting your account from inside the app (Settings → danger zone → delete account). That deletion is permanent and immediate.
We may terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms. We will where reasonable give you notice before doing so.
9. Changes
If we materially change these Terms, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Seen's operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
